The French Defense serves as a celebration of the rich culture, diversity, resilience, excellence and LOVE that exists in the heart of the Historic Westside, where this film was shot. The French Defense is a beautiful 30 minute short film that was shot during the heart of a worldwide pandemic, global shutdown, a nation divided over politics, health & safety, police brutality and senseless killings. This film serves as the final project for our 2020 Summer Camp that allowed local at risk youth the opportunity to learn how to express themselves through the healing power of film making.
